Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! Here you'll find links to current projects and also my evolving portfolio. My main purpose is to share my experiences with LIVING HISTORY, or history brought to life in ways that teach our children and bring families together.

At right is the link to my "B is for Blanding" book which you can now buy online, and also to my family history blogs. (I am currently spending most of my time on family history!)

Carving pumpkins at Halloween!
This is by far one of my favorite photos EVER!  I took this shot during the Fear Factor competition at Harrisville Heritage Days.  Morgan, you rock!!

At the Ogden Eccles Dinosaur Park.  Looks a little too real for me, even though I took the picture!
Elephant habitat at Hogle Zoo before the new, fancy stuff.  "This is the Place" monument shown in background.
Relaxing at the Hogle Zoo.  This playful polar bear at Utah's Hogle Zoo passed away, so I guess that makes this a historic shot.

No snow here yet so I'm still thinking of fall. Leaves. Loosely wearing a jacket. Hiking in the mountains. And wooden fences to climb or sit on. I took this photo of my little "in-house" model last week as practice for another photo shoot.

Negotiation Clause

Of all the photos I have taken at Christmas time, this is my favorite. The "Clauses" live in our neighborhood. How could you say no to such a sweet face?
I have been working on a project for a friend, scanning and fixing family photos for her to give as Christmas presents.  I especially love this photo of Barbara as a young girl. (I enlarged the photo from the original and added the sepia toning.)

And I love this photo, too, because I rescued the children from being covered in ink. :)

Book cover

This week I got to design a book cover.  First time I had done this and I like the earthy softness of the colors which balances out the seriousness of the subject of emergency preparedness.

Windows Tips and Tricks calendar

A calendar I have been working on for a client. I designed the box and also edited the content of the calendar pages inside.

Finished a flier this week to promote my book.

A fun picture of me and our kids looking at a copy of B is for Blanding, taken to accompany an article in the Blue Mountain Panorama.
